The BWC Juniorettes visited the animal shelter on December 10 to donate blankets, towels, and newspapers. While there, they were given a tour of the facility and got to meet many of the dogs and cats residing there.
Club members celebrated the holidays with a Heritage Luncheon. Members brought in traditional/favorite family foods that represented their family heritage: American, Czechoslovakian, Chinese, English, German, Hungarian, Indian, Irish, Italian, Polish, and Ukrainian. Some members brought in heirlooms and told family stories about the items. These included Russian dolls, from Hungary: a doll, a covered bowl, a felt appliqué Christmas tree skirt, a 100 year old hand embroidered tablecloth, from Germany: a child’s pants, knee socks, and hat, just to name a few. The 48 members and guests who attended were also entertained by a fabulous holiday themed performance by dance students from Somerset County Vo-Tech. It was a festive occasion enjoyed by all!!
The Bridgewater Woman’s Club held a tea party at the November 12 monthly meeting. Members and six guests enjoyed a very interesting presentation by Judith Krall-Russo (center above), Food Historian, who spoke about preserving the culinary history of tea and food. Everyone enjoyed delicious tea sandwiches and dessert while sipping tea from vintage tea cups.
The Bridgewater Woman’s Club held its fall fundraiser: A Magical Afternoon, featuring the amazing mentalist and magician Simon Mandal, on November 3rd. One hundred members and guests enjoyed a delicious Italian buffet. Forty six raffle baskets, a 50/50, and a magic hat bursting with lottery tickets were won by lucky attendees. A good time was had by all and over $4000 was raised for charity!
In support of the GFWC National Day of Service, Food Insecurity and Hunger Campaign, Club members donated 345 lbs. of non-perishable food items to the Raritan Food Pantry and spent time helping pantry volunteers stock the shelves.

Two of the Club's delegates to GCI spoke at our September meeting and talked about the positive experiences they had at the mini-college/career exploration event held at Douglass College.
Hank Werner from Jack’s kids spoke about how the organization helps to ease the financial burden of families dealing with serious childhood illnesses/disabilities. Jacks Kids was the recipient of a $1250 donation from the Club.
After speaking at the September meeting, Kathy Higgins (center, right) from Moms Helping Moms accepts a $1250 charitable donation from the Club for the work they do to "provide underserved families with equitable access to the essentials they need to provide their children with a safe and healthy start".
Members participate in a club fundraiser by volunteering at the Somerset Patriots ballpark “Dippin dots” and “State Fair” food kiosks during evening games over the summer.

The Bridgewater Woman's Club sponsors BRHS junior girls to attend the Douglas College Girls Career Institute.

Following our December general meeting, dance students from Somerset County Vocational and Technical High School performed a spectacular Christmas dance program that put everyone in the holiday spirit!!

September is NJ Hunger Action Month. The Club collected non-perishable food, paper goods and household cleaning products totalling $686 which was donated to the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation Food Pantry to support in-need families with children battling pediatric cancer.
